PRCP at AMKH

Okie, I'll get the ball rolling... =)

My PRCP wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. I was the only student every shift (except the first and last day). So yeah, pretty lonely...but I got the opportunity to practice whatever skills I could (not many skills to cover in AMKH, though).

Sometimes I felt like I was being thrown into the deep end of the sea...like, when I was asked to take two whole cubicles (which equals to 16 patients) in the second week...and you know, with me and my limited multi-tasking abilities, I swam reallyreallyreally hard, trying to catch my breath at times and at the end of the day, I reach the shore (home) so utterly exhausted.

But it was good...and when it came to night shift, I was given three cubicles. =) Great experience.

Now I realize, that when people recognize and see your capabilities, they give you more responsibilities. Our task is to seize the opportunity instead of whining, and make full use of them. Otherwise, whatever has been given to you in the first place, will eventually be taken away (and this doesn't apply to nursing alone, but life itself)...

Thank God AMKH isn't an acute hospital. Haha...but they really shouldn't send students for PRCP there lah...
